Lazarus Video is video shop and boutique; part archive, part video rental. It exists to bring physical media back into circulation, celebrate overlooked films, and create a space where watching something together still matters.
Lazarus Video is a project of Last Supper Books in downtown Hamilton.

We are located at Last Supper Books (148 James St N, Hamilton, ON).
Hours are posted and up to date on Google and Instagram.

Getting started is simple:
1) Become a member online or in-person to gain access to member’s only perks both for Last Supper Books and Lazarus Video.
2) Regain the video store experience, start renting and/or collecting select titles.

You can reach us anytime via our email lastsupperbooks@gmail.com or in-person. We aim to respond quickly, usually within 1-2 business day.

We focus on a curated mix: cult classics, deep cuts, documentaries, forgotten gems, crowd-pleaser and newer releases of a variety of genres. We will be adding titles daily.
Follow on Instagram or Letterboxd for new titles and updates.

We also can order a variety of releases for customers looking to collect whether more popular or niche releases like Criterion, Vinegar Syndrome etc. Ordering depends on availability and we process order only once at the end of each month.

We primarily carry DVD and Blu-ray but will be growing collection and format as we grow.

Rentals are at the heart of Lazarus Video.
Rental period: 7 days for most titles. Shorter or longer as marked.
Pricing:
Pre-load a 10-credit punch card, each release is marked with credit amounts.
1 Credit = $3
2 Credit = $6
3 Credit = $9
Late fees: 2 releases rented at any one time, you can only continue renting when previous movies are returned.

Yes. We have a selection of titles available for purchase, especially collectible or harder-to-find items. Inventory changes often.

Yes. Lazarus Video regularly hosts screenings, ranging from casual drop-ins to themed nights and special events. Reach out to Last Supper Books for special bookings.

Part of the fun is browsing in person. We may share highlights online, but not everything is listed, some things you have to discover on the shelf.

We’re open to donations and trades, at the discretion of the store. If you’ve got a box of movies looking for a second life, get in touch. We appreciate the support of our project.
